Apple imposes sanctions against NFT developers

10:12 pm, September 24, 2022

Apple has updated the policy of requirements for applications uploaded to the App Store and left many game developers dissatisfied. In their opinion, these restrictions can harm the NFT and Play-2-Earn market.

Apple Inc. has demanded that all teams releasing NFT games should only distribute them as in-app purchases. And accordingly, pay a commission on sales.

As a rule, NFTs, like any other blockchain-based assets, can be freely transferred between crypto wallets without third-party control. In this case, NFTs are sold on a peer-to-peer basis without additional fees, with the exception of the «gas fee».

With the new restrictions from Apple, many developers have to increase the price of NFT trading by more than 30%. This, in turn, makes all in-game NFT transactions too expensive for most gamers.

The crypto industry giants believe that the problem can be solved with a specialized crypto store for digital applications independent of large tech companies.
