International regulations on cryptocurrencies will be monitored by Ukrainian MPs, among others
Ukrainian MPs will take part in the implementation of blockchain technologies at the international level — the inter-factional association of MPs Blockchain4Ukraine has joined the advisory board of the International Association for Trusted Blockchain Applications (INATBA).
Representatives from all over the world, including Ukrainians, will work on developing a common strategy for the implementation of blockchain technologies at the national and international levels. As for Ukraine, the official representative of our country is Oleksiy Zhmerenetsky, the head of Blockchain4Ukraine and one of the authors of the law «On Virtual Assets «.
Participation in INATBA is not the first blockchain initiative of the association of MPs Blockchain4Ukraine, as in June it became known that Ukraine received observer status within the European Blockchain Partnership (EBP). At that time, Ukraine’s accession to the EBP was initiated by Konstantin Yarmolenko, CEO of the Virtual Assets of Ukraine association, and Oleksiy Zhmerenetsky, head of the Blockchain4Ukraine association. Yarmolenko and Zhmerenetskyi appealed to representatives of the EU institutional bodies, including the head of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen, to include Ukraine as a full member of the EBP.
Despite the war in Ukraine, our country is actively developing in all directions, and the digital and cryptocurrency sector is no exception. According to the plans of the Ministry of Digital Transformation, Ukraine will launch a national cryptocurrency (CBDC) in 2030. At the same time, the Minister of Digital Transformation of Ukraine Mykhailo Fedorov plans to significantly reduce the circulation of ordinary paper money.
It is worth noting that cryptocurrencies play an important role in the Russian-Ukrainian war. Thus, Ukrainians receive hundreds of thousands of hryvnias in cryptocurrency every day through NFT collections and charitable foundations that accept crypto donations. Thus, thanks to the NFT museum dedicated to the chronology of the Russian-Ukrainian war, Meta History UA, the Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine managed to raise more than $ 1 million to help the military. Despite the volatility in the cryptocurrency market, digital assets have become an important defense element for Ukraine. «Due to the speed of transfers, cryptocurrencies literally save the lives of our military,» said Deputy Minister of Digital Transformation Oleksandr Borniakov.
