Thanks to a video with Elon Musk, millions of dollars worth of cryptocurrency was stolen

10:11 pm, May 8, 2022

According to a report published today by Bleeping Computer, millions of dollars have been stolen through fake videos featuring Tesla CEO Elon Musk and former Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey.

Fake videos touting a scam to double your cryptocurrency are circulating on YouTube and Discord, as we have already written about in detail. The report says that one of the YouTube channels promoting the scam has more than a million subscribers who could have been victims of the scam.

To make the bait seem more real, fraudsters create fake tables that show how other users have managed to double their cryptocurrency assets. In fact, the tables generate random data using simple JavaScript code.

It is worth noting that Elon Musk himself is not happy about what is happening and is considering using Doge as a defense against fraudsters on Twitter.
