A documentary about Brian Armstrong was made
Co-founder and CEO of Coinbase Brian Armstrong has announced the release of a documentary about his life on Amazon Prime, iTunes, and YouTube. The novelty is expected to be released on October 7. According to the documentary director Greg Kochs, he and his team had «unprecedented access to the inner workings» of Armstrong’s company, capturing the «crazy ups and downs of the last three years.» Kochs noted that the documentary will show «the good, the bad, and even the ugly.» The film will showcase the creation of a tech startup from scratch to its transformation into a public company.
«I agreed to make this documentary because I wanted to shed light on what it takes to create a tech startup. Ihoped to show that the creators of technology are ordinary people, as well as to demystify cryptocurrency ,» the director said.
At the end of September, the cryptocurrency exchange Coinbase was accused of private trading in digital assets. The company denies everything, but emphasizes that its competitors in the industry are doing the same. «Unlike many of our competitors, Coinbase does not operate its own trading business and does not act as a market maker ,» the company wrote, without specifying which competitive exchanges it believes are doing this. Recently, the cryptocurrency exchange launched an app to check politicians who are favorable to virtual assets. The tool shows how different members of the US Congress rate their «cryptocurrency sentiment.» The app’s scores are partly based on data from the Crypto Action Network, which analyzes members of Congress from their media statements, legislative records, statements about cryptocurrency sponsorship, etc.
Earlier, we reported that Coinbase supports two bills in the US Congress that would allow the CFTC (Commodity Futures Trading Commission) to take control of cryptocurrency regulation, including bitcoin and ethereum. «We support the efforts of the House and Senate that could give more power to the CFTC,» the exchange said.
