Cryptocurrency hackers switch to XRP token holders

Hackers and cryptocurrency thieves have rarely stolen significant amounts of assets from XRP, but a new scheme suggests that their approach is beginning to change.

Ripple CTO David Schwartz has warned XRP holders about a phishing scam that uses a fake Ripple website and promises to steal XRP at ultra-high profits.

According to the screenshot Schwartz showed, the scammers are using a clone of Binance's email design for phishing. The email states that «Ripple has announced a new feature that is an XRP betting platform with a high ROI of 16% to 31% and a collateral fund of over 5 billion XRP.»

Binance (not Ripple) has indeed launched XRP DeFi staking, which allows users to «staking» XRP and earn up to 1.40% per annum (fraudsters «offer» ten times more).
