Members of the cryptocurrency community deceived a fraudster and returned stolen NFTs

The World of Solana (WOS) cryptocurrency community tracked down and returned some of the NFTs stolen for resale, buying them back for 2% of the price set by the attacker.

The official page of the Unchained NFT studio on Discord was hacked (this is now a permanent problem), and the hacker gained access to 109 wallets. The biggest loss was suffered by a user who lost 25 NFTs from the WOS collection.

He and other community members asked the developer Cyber Frogs to set a 98% royalty on the stolen tokens. The company agreed, and the ex-owners of NFT began to observe the placement of new lots on the MagicEden marketplace, where items of this series are sold.

Two days later, the attacker put up all 25 NFTs for sale on the platform. World of Solana members were able to buy 15 items from him, while the remaining 10 were purchased by another user (a «sniper» — a person who buys auction lots in the last seconds).

Later, this buyer was notified that he had purchased stolen items and would not be able to sell them. He was offered a refund and agreed to help recover the NFT.
