Ukrainian startup has developed a course on cryptocurrencies in partnership with the UN
Ukrainian developers from the Global Ledger startup have announced a partnership with the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC). As the project representatives told ForkLog, UNODC and Global Ledger have launched a new course on cryptocurrencies.
With the new educational program, the partners hope to counteract the illegal use of cryptocurrencies. According to UNODC representatives, this is the third such program on digital assets implemented by the UN. The course program is designed for the Cyber Police of Ukraine, the Ministry of Digital Transformation, and the State Financial Monitoring Service. As promised by the Global Ledger, after completing the course, employees of the above-mentioned agencies will improve their skills in investigating cybercrime.
«I would like to emphasize the importance of public-private partnerships between international organizations and government agencies and analytical blockchain companies. Joint efforts allow us to make the crypto market transparent, legal, and safe for participants,» said the representative of the cryptocurrency project from the OSCE (Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe) and the UNODC.
This is not the only training program launched for law enforcement — in September, Binance presented an educational course that teaches how to find cybercriminals. Consumer protection is a top priority for the exchange, so the platform representatives will do everything possible to fight hacking and cyberterrorism, Binance said at the time. Last year alone, the Binance Investigations team held more than 30 seminars on finding cybercriminals around the world.
As for other training courses launched by Ukrainians, in early October, WhiteBIT crypto exchange became a partner of the Kyiv-Mohyla Academy. According to the agreement, the crypto exchange will participate in the creation of a new blockchain training course for one of the most famous universities in the country.
