In Ukraine, you can already buy an apartment with cryptocurrency

4:14 pm, June 6, 2022

Ukrainian developer DIM has opened the possibility of buying real estate for cryptocurrency. At the first stage, USDC, USDT, BUSD, and DAI will be accepted. Later, the list of supported assets will be expanded. According to the company’s press service, the initiative was implemented in compliance with the new legislation.

Interestingly, according to the developer, this is only the first step towards the implementation of a large plan to introduce the Web3 ecosystem. In the future, all transactions will be recorded in the blockchain, paper contracts will be replaced by smart contracts, and ownership agreements will be converted to NFTs.

It is worth noting that real estate transactions with cryptocurrency have been carried out in Ukraine before. It was possible to buy real estate through an exchange agreement.

The trend of buying real estate with cryptocurrency is already spreading around the world: in Dubai, VIP real estate can be bought with crypto, and in Portugal, for the first time in Europe, an apartment was officially purchased. In Brazil, companies are also accepting digital currency as payment for real estate.
