Bryan Armstrong urges users to vote for crypto enthusiasts in the elections
Coinbase CEO Армстронг «href="https://noworries.media/biography/brajan-armstrong/» data-bio-id="3684">Brian Armstrong urged users to vote for political candidates who support the crypto industry. Armstrong noted that this is necessary to counteract the US SEC (Securities and Exchange Commission).
During a discussion on Twitter Spaces, the Coinbase CEO said that the exchange team will make every effort to «turn the 50 million US citizens who use cryptocurrencies in their daily lives into a unified political force.» Armstrong emphasized that Coinbase will provide people with the opportunity to contact congressmen and direct donations to candidates who will support digital assets. The top manager promised that Coinbase will do everything to make sure that people’s voices are heard and that the cryptocurrency industry in the United States is «destined for success.»
Armstrong’s statement came after the US Securities and Exchange Commission began preparing a lawsuit against the platform for selling unregistered securities. At the time, Armstrong called on crypto users to support a petition against the regulator, which claims that staking services are not related to securities.
The Coinbase CEO was joined by Sheila Warren, CEO of the Crypto Council for Innovation. She noted that cryptocurrency companies have spent a huge amount of resources trying to establish a constructive dialog with the SEC. «Are we really going to allow one American regulator to determine the entire trajectory of innovation for the entire country? Especially if this regulator refuses to interact with the industry it is trying to regulate? the 20% of Americans who own cryptocurrencies are voters who can make a difference if they vote,» Warren was outraged.
As a reminder, Coinbase recently analyzed the security of ERC-20 tokens using ChatGPT. Although the algorithm did not meet expectations, Coinbase noted in its report that the chatbot «shows potential.»
