Representatives of Trust Wallet, one of the most famous cryptocurrency wallets, have announced the launch of a new cloud backup feature called Safety Snapshot. From now on, users will be able to restore access to the wallet even without a seed phrase.

In the comments under the post about Safety Snapshot on Twitter, users' opinions on the launch of the new feature were divided. Some praised the new feature, emphasizing that from now on, the problem of remembering the seed phrase will become irrelevant. However, there were also those who considered cloud backup a dubious method of protecting their funds.

As a reminder, in early February, a hacker managed to steal cryptocurrency from a Trust Wallet wallet using only a photo of the balance. «We believe that the theft was caused by a social engineering fraud that included a series of events leading up to the crime itself. This hacking attack was carried out by an organized crime unit in Rome. Other participants in the crime were located in Milan and Barcelona,» the crypto wallet developers suggested at the time.
