Steve Jobs' family wrote a book about his life — it can be downloaded for free

6:40 pm, April 2, 2023

Steve Jobs never lived to be an old man. But by running Apple and Pixar, and by rising and falling with his products, he gained a lot of entrepreneurial wisdom at the age of 56.

That’s why a small group of his family members, friends, and former colleagues have collected their memories in the book «Making Something Great: Steve Jobs in His Own Words», which will be available for free starting April 11.

A cross between a posthumous memoir and a scrapbook, the book tells the story of Jobs through notes and drafts he sent to himself via email, excerpts of letters and speeches, oral histories and interviews, photographs and memorabilia.

«Imagine yourself as an old man looking back on your life,» Jobs wrote in an email in June 2005 as he prepared to give the commencement address at Stanford. «Your life will be history. It will be your story, with its ups and downs, heroes and villains.» The book, published by the Steve Jobs Archive, will be available at Apple Books and on the Steve Jobs Archive website. The book was designed by LoveFrom, a company founded by Jony Ive, a former Apple chief designer.

Earlier, the American developer created a chatbot that speaks in the voice of Steve Jobs.
