Solana blockchain surpasses Ethereum in terms of the number of active users

According to the analytical company Nansen, in March 2023, six major blockchains contained more than 1 million active addresses each. These are cryptocurrency wallets that have completed at least one transaction on the network. Experts noted that the Solana blockchain surpassed Ethereum in this indicator. The researchers also studied the BNB Chain, Polygon, Arbitrum, and Fantom networks.

According to Nansen, BNB Chain leads the ranking. It accounted for about 13.3 million active addresses. The researchers separately noted the progress in the number of wallets in the Solana network. Anatoliy Yakovenko’s blockchain is ahead of all other competitors, including Ethereum.

Currently, the figure for Solana is 5.8 million, while Ethereum has 5.2 million active addresses. The Polygon blockchain has 3.9 million active users, Arbitrum — 2.2 million, and Fantom — 1 million.

Nansen experts noted that the figures indicate a high interest of cryptocurrency holders in the leading blockchain networks. For instance, Binance and PancakeSwap trading platforms are very popular in the BNB chain, where analysts counted the largest number of active users.

As for Solana, the Raydium Protocol, the Stepn blockchain platform, and the Orca DeFi platform are popular in this network. Speaking of Ethereum, analysts emphasized that over the past 30 days, the zksync and StarkWare protocols have recorded the largest increase in new users — zksync showed an increase of 1322%, StarkWare — 805%.
