Police believe Norwegian millionaire who allegedly killed his wife used darknet and VPN in an attempt to frame non-existent kidnappers
According to local media reports, Tom Hagen, a Norwegian millionaire, could have bought fake documents and internet accounts of Ole Henrik Golf on one of the darknet forums. At least, this is the version that the local police, who are investigating, are inclined to believe.
The CardPass service, which is targeted at hackers and fraudsters, sold Golf’s personal data, which led to the police launching an investigation into the defunct service.
Last year, it became known that in communicating with the police, the «extortionist» used one of the services that allow cryptocurrency transactions. He also used a VPN to remain anonymous.
In 2019, after the disappearance of the millionaire’s wife, the Hagen family claimed that they were demanding a ransom for Anne-Elizabeth's release. Norwegian journalists even mentioned the amount of $ 10 million in Monero cryptocurrency.
