Epic Games destroyed cryptocurrency token in 1 day

June 8, 2022 · 5:03 pm 1 min read

The unofficial fan cryptocurrency Fortnite Token (FNT) has been deleted from Twitter and the official website has stopped opening — all thanks to the efforts of Epic Games CEO Tim Sweeney, who has engaged lawyers in the case.

Two days ago, Epic Games CEO Tim Sweeney discovered a Fortnite Token cryptocurrency account on Twitter that had violated his company’s copyright by copying the name and logo of the Fortnite game. Sweeney posted a lot of comments on the Fortnite Token page and said that his lawyers were already preparing a lawsuit against the token developers. We didn’t have to wait long — today the Fortnite Token has practically disappeared from the Internet.

At the time of writing, Fortnite Token is still traded on PancakeSwap in a pair with Binance Coin (BNB). However, the token is far from successful — its price is $ 0.2 866, which is 75% less than yesterday. According to Nomics, in January, FNT hit an all-time high of $ 0.2 149.
