The founder of one of the world’s largest cryptocurrency exchanges has started to «cover his tracks» on the network
Users have noticed the strange activity of the founder of one of the world’s largest cryptocurrency exchanges, Coinbase. Армстронг «href="https://noworries.media/biography/brajan-armstrong/» data-bio-id="3684">Brian Armstrong deleted more than a hundred of his Twitter messages.
The exchange’s CEO not only deleted controversial tweets but also deleted their archived copies on the Wayback Machine. At the time of writing, Armstrong has not commented on his actions.
Members of the cryptocurrency community decided to track all the publications of the Coinbase CEO from 2015 to 2018. According to @Pledditor, it was then that the founder of the crypto exchange made the most provocative statements on the social network. Those interested in the idea have already launched an archive on GitHub, where they have collected hundreds of Armstrong’s tweets back to 2013.
In his tweets, Armstrong called for an increase in the block size of the BTC network, announced the launch of the Bitcoin XT fork in Coinbase (which did not receive support from the crypto community). The Coinbase executive also claimed that XRP, Stellar, and other altcoins (on which the entire Coinbase business is now based) could only be used as a joke.
Armstrong’s tweet praising Coinbase for its inclusivity and diversity of staff also came under scrutiny. These statements are noteworthy because later, journalists from The New York Times investigated and found out about discrimination against the exchange’s employees.
As @Pledditor noted, starting in 2019, the founder of Coinbase suddenly stopped making ambiguous public statements on the social network. The crypto community believes that Armstrong is trying to cover his tracks amid Coinbase’s litigation with the US Securities and Exchange Commission.
