NFT token of Covid-19 vaccine to be sold at auction

3:42 pm, June 25, 2022

An unusual NFT demonstrating the molecular technology of the mRNA vaccine used to fight Covid-19 will be auctioned at Christie’s online next month. In this way, the developers hope to raise funds for future medical research.

The digital three-dimensional work will be presented by the University of Pennsylvania and Drew Weissman, a physician whose research helped create the mRNA vaccine.

The NFT is a one-minute visual work that will also be accompanied by a storyboard explaining in detail how mRNA works in the fight against the Covid-19 virus, copies of the original mRNA patent documents owned by the University of Pennsylvania, and an original letter from Weissman, director of vaccine research.

The only one, and therefore completely unique, NFT will be auctioned at Christie’s from July 15 to 25. The starting price has not been disclosed.
