NFT tokens by Beeple mock the US President
Mike Winkelman (Beeple), a well-known NFT artist in the crypto world, has tweeted two of his new works that mock US President Joe Biden.
Beeple releases one new image every day, complementing his Everydays photo series. Two of the artist’s recent works depict Biden in «not so pleasant circumstances.» The image titled Inflation features balloons that remind users of Joe Biden’s face. Probably, with this work, Beeple ridiculed the president, who, according to many US citizens, had a negative impact on inflation in the country.
The second work, published on July 4, is titled The American Experiment and depicts Biden and former US President Donald Trump. Some users expect that «The American Experiment» and «Inflation», in addition to being posted on Twitter, will be featured in the artist’s new NFT collection.
Obviously, the artist’s talent for ridiculing famous personalities, his own view of world events, and the large amount of material feedback from users make attackers nervous. Recently, hackers attacked Mike Winkelman’s Twitter account. The fraudsters placed a phishing link on the compromised page to the artist’s «official» website, where one could register for the NFT draw. The phishing links were posted on Beeple’s Twitter account for about five hours in a row. During this time, the attackers received crypto assets worth $ 73,000 and $ 365,000 to two different addresses. In total, the hackers earned about half a million dollars.
