Auction of rare alcohol to be held with the help of cryptocurrency tokens

BlockBar, an NFT marketplace for the sale of elite alcoholic beverages, has announced that it will auction a rare Japanese whiskey made in 1970, with the price starting at $ 75,000.

According to BlockBar representatives on their official website, collectors «will have a chance to own a piece of history». Whiskey «The Last Masterpiece 1970» was produced in Japan at the Karuizawa distillery, which ceased operations in 2011.

The auction will start today at 19:00 Kyiv time. The organizers emphasized that only 1 «unique» bottle will be available for purchase, with an initial price of USD 75,000.

Apparently, cryptocurrency tokens will soon be used to sell and buy anything. In addition to the usual real estate purchases with NFTs, from July 15 to 25, Christie’s online auction will feature NFTs for Covid-19 vaccines. The unusual NFT is a one-minute visual work, which is promised to be accompanied by a storyboard (explaining in detail how mRNA works in the fight against the Covid-19 virus), copies of the original mRNA patent documents (owned by the University of Pennsylvania), and an original letter from Weissman, director of vaccine research.
