US President to hold a survey on cryptocurrencies

The US Treasury Department has announced the launch of a cryptocurrency survey on behalf of US President Joe Biden to find out citizens' opinions on digital assets.

According to the information published in the document «Ensuring the Responsible Development of Digital Assets,» the widespread adoption of cryptocurrencies can cause large differences between different segments of the US population and create financial risks for those who are unfamiliar with the industry. That is why the Ministry of Finance encourages everyone to take part in the survey and express their opinion on digital assets.

A few days earlier, the U.S. Treasury presented a document that sets the boundaries of intergovernmental cooperation in the field of digital assets to ensure that cryptocurrency activities are consistent with «America's core democratic values.» The agency has set such program goals as protecting consumers in the US and around the world by promoting technologies and standards that reflect US values and countering foreign adversaries' attempts to implement standards and promote their own protocols.
