Elon Musk will create his own technological university

Elon Musk, the head of SpaceX and CEO of X, plans to establish his own university in Austin. This became known from the tax return of one of his charitable organizations, Bloomberg News reports.

The Foundation plans to use the $ 100 million received from Musk to create and launch an elementary and middle school in Austin that will specialize in teaching science, technology, engineering, and math. Once the school is fully operational, the organization will focus on establishing a university.

The school intends to receive accreditation from the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools, which is a necessary first step to launch.

According to the application, the university will teach students in person, «as well as using distance education technologies.» Initially, it is planned to enroll 50 students, and later — more.

The school will be funded by donations and tuition fees, although the application also states that if a student is unable to pay tuition or fees, the school may provide financial assistance. The institution is currently recruiting for an executive director, teachers, and administrators.

It should be noted that Musk invests not only in education.
