Bitcoin network developer speaks out for the first time about the impostor posing as Satoshi Nakamoto

Vladimir van der Laan, the lead administrator of the Bitcoin repository on GitHub, is considering returning to the development of the flagship crypto asset. The reason is the victory in the court of the Crypto Open Patent Alliance (COPA) over Craig Wright.

Van der Laan seems to have been impressed by the judge’s statement that Craig Wright is not the author of the Bitcoin White Paper, did not act under the pseudonym Сатоші Накамото" href="https://noworries.news/biography/satoshi-nakamoto/" data-bio-id="4232">Satoshi Nakamoto, did not create the Bitcoin system, and is not the author of the initial versions of Bitcoin software. Van der Laan pointed to the fact that after years of slander and harassment, the decision of the legal system was unexpected but positive. He called Wright a fraudster and a horrible person who deliberately used his fraud to harm others.

Van der Laan hinted that he could potentially become more active in bitcoin development now that this legal battle is over. However, he did not make any promises due to the difficulties he has faced in recent years. «Now that everything is over, I can become more active in bitcoin development again. But I can’t promise anything. The last few years have been difficult for me, for this reason and others. But the fact that all this has been put on the back burner helps a lot,» he wrote.

The developer emphasized the importance of the court’s decision not only for bitcoin but also for open source development. He added that copyright trolls will ultimately lose, even despite financial support and falsification attempts.

It should be noted that the Dutch developer is best known for his significant contribution to the development of Bitcoin Core, the software that powers the Bitcoin network. He was a key figure in the Bitcoin development community.
