Cryptocurrency mining will help the whole country to heat residential buildings

Experts from the Finnish project Hashlabs Mining have come up with a way to put cryptocurrency mining to good use. The crypto enthusiasts proposed to use bitcoin mining devices to heat houses in Finland.

To solve the problem associated with the harsh climate, the Finns have already invented one of the most advanced district heating systems. It allows to provide heat to many houses from one source.

Typically, the stations use fuels such as biomass, coal, natural gas, peat, or oil. Hashlabs Mining has presented an innovative solution to replace all «dirty» fuel with waste heat from cryptocurrency mining equipment. According to the plan, ASIC devices with hydrocooling of the WhatsMiner M63S model are to be integrated into the Finnish district heating system. The latter is capable of transmitting hot water with a temperature of approximately 70 °C through pipes.

The heat generated by HTS mining will first be supplied to a network of insulated pipes, and then to several houses. This way, Finnish residents will be able to benefit from industrial cryptocurrency mining.

«The best supplier of high-temperature water for district heating is bitcoin mining ,» wrote Hashlabs co-founder Jaran Mellerud. So far, a local partner of Hashlabs Mining has already integrated two bitcoin miners into the district heating system.
