10:47 am, August 19, 2024

Windows users are being attacked by a new malicious virus called Styx Stealer, which poses a serious threat to cryptocurrency asset owners. This virus is specially designed to intercept and modify cryptocurrency wallet addresses when sending transactions, redirecting funds to hackers' accounts.

The virus spreads through rental on specialized forums, making it available to a wide range of cybercriminals. Styx Stealer exploits vulnerabilities in the Windows security system, bypassing some antivirus programs. The virus is capable of stealing data from cryptocurrency wallets, browsers, and other applications, collecting user information and sending it to attackers.

In addition, it can hijack the clipboard, replacing the victim’s crypto wallet address with the attacker’s. This can lead to the loss of significant amounts of money during transactions. The virus can spread through various channels, including phishing emails, malicious links, and infected programs.

Windows users are advised to be especially careful when making transactions and update their antivirus software to the latest version. It is also important to check the correctness of the entered data before confirming the sending of cryptocurrency.
