A documentary about the USDT cryptocurrency was made

Tether will present a documentary about the Tether stablecoin (USDT) called Stability and Freedom in Chaos.

The movie is timed to coincide with the tenth anniversary of USDT’s creation, but it is not yet known when the film will be shown. Tether employees published a trailer demonstrating the value of USDT for residents of countries with high inflation, such as Turkey and Argentina.

The authors of the film claim that stablecoin brings people financial freedom and allows them to protect their savings from depreciation. Thanks to this, USDT has gained popularity in countries around the world, becoming a convenient means of payment and an important tool for trading cryptocurrencies.

Unfortunately, there is also a high demand for USDT in Russia. According to the US Treasury Department, Russians use stablecoins to circumvent economic sanctions. US Deputy Treasury Secretary Wally Adeyemo claims that conventional methods fail to prevent cross-border payments in USDT, so he proposes to impose secondary sanctions against cryptocurrency service providers that violate the sanctions regime or cooperate with criminals, such as hackers.
