Startup Worldcoin is undergoing a significant change: it is abandoning its focus on its own cryptocurrency and switching to its core identity technology.

The company has recently Binance.com/ru/square/post/2024−10−17-worldcoin-rebrands-to-world-and-introduces-faster-orb-for-identity-verification-15 001 300 786 585">renamed to World and introduced a new version of its proprietary Orb device, an eye scanner used to verify human identity.

The company’s co-founder Alex Blania presented Orb, a biometric eye scanner used to verify a person’s identity using the Deep Face identification service. Orb, which runs on the NVIDIA Jetson chipset, will be available to customers so massively that the developers compared it to ordering a pizza.

In a statement, the company said that these advances «enable us to offer new ways to provide proof of human verification for World ID in more locations around the world.»
