Cryptocurrency mixer operator laundered a record 350,000 bitcoins

Larry Harmon, the operator of the Helix cryptocurrency mixer, was sentenced to three years in prison in the United States for laundering more than 354,600 bitcoins, Incrypted reports. The court also ruled to confiscate his assets worth $ 311 million and cryptocurrency worth more than $ 400 million. Harmon pleaded guilty to money laundering conspiracy and cooperated with the investigation. This allowed him to avoid a maximum sentence of 20 years.

The Helix service, which Harmon ran from 2014 to 2017, processed cryptocurrency transactions worth more than $ 300 million.
