The author of the idea, Zach Reed, created the app to help beginner musicians learn to play a musical instrument in the style of the once cult-like learning and entertainment app Guitar Hero. PianoVision is designed for those who want to learn to play the piano on their own. The developer claims that with the help of Passthrough AR technology and hand tracking, you can master the piano several times faster than in classical lessons.

Gamers can either play a fully virtual piano, learning notes and hand positions, or use the app in conjunction with a real instrument or MIDI keyboard. With the help of augmented reality, users can see their hands and keyboard in front of them, and PianoVision will overlay interactive graphics to show them how to play the instrument.

PianoVision will allow you to upload your own sheet music for learning instead of choosing something from an existing library of scores. In addition, the program supports the function of use by several people at once. So in PianoVision, you can virtually gather with friends to organize a joint concert.

The developer emphasizes that the program is available for download on the MetaQuest and VR Gaming platforms.
