Auto giants Nissan and Toyota start experiments in meta-universes

12:09 pm, April 25, 2022

Major Japanese automotive concerns Nissan Motor and Toyota Motor have noticed the popularity of metaverse and started using them for various purposes.

Nissan has launched a digital version of the Nissan Crossing gallery in virtual reality, which is located in the real world in Tokyo’s Ginza neighborhood. The platform of the American startup VRChat was chosen to host a virtual copy of the showroom.

In the virtual showroom, visitors will be able to see the new Nissan Ariya electric car, and in the future, it is planned to hold various events and presentations(we recently wrote in detail about such events).

Toyota also uses the metaverse to solve other problems: the virtual space is a workplace for some of the company’s divisions and subsidiaries. Employees participate in virtual reality meetings, communicate with each other, and spend time in a virtual office. The platform is currently used by HR and technical development departments.

Hyundai has recently released a short film called The Universe of Metamobility. It presents the automaker’s NFT concept, which so far looks more like the first steps in the meta-space than an independent and understandable project. However, everyone starts small.
