Texas city to start mining cryptocurrency for public funds
Fort Worth, Texas, will start mining bitcoin, according to Mayor Matty Parker. Today, members of the city council voted to accept a donation of 3 Bitmain Antminer S9 mining units from the Texas Blockchain Council.
The mining machines will operate 24/7 in the city administration hall and will be connected to a private mining pool.
The city representatives expect that their public open stance towards cryptocurrencies and innovations in general will help raise funds for the further implementation of digital technologies. Well, independent mining is already a very bold decision, but it would still be worth working on the capacity.
