Netflix to ban cryptocurrency ads
Netflix has decided to abandon all advertising campaigns related to politics, gambling, and cryptocurrencies. The new subscription option, which will appear in the near future and will be the first to follow the new rules, will also not show ads for children. The service also wants to introduce restrictions on advertising of medicines and other pharmaceutical products.
Netflix has postponed the launch of its lower-cost subscription tier, where users will see fewer ads, to November 2022. All this to compete with Disney, which is launching its own ad-based plan on December 8. Now, the new Netflix subscription tier will be launched on November 1 in several countries, including the US, Canada, the UK, Germany, and France.
In early August, Netflix teamed up with Polygon to create the NFT collection. The project is aimed at informing the public about ASD — autism spectrum disorder. The company will also create a decentralized autonomous organization (DAO) to raise charitable funds to support people with ASD.
