Accounts of pump. fun crypto platform and its founder blocked in X

1:44 pm, June 17, 2025

The social network X (formerly Twitter) has blocked the accounts of the crypto platform pump. fun, its co-founder Alon Cohen, and at least 20 other accounts related to the crypto industry, including GMGN, BullX, Bloom Trading, and Eliza OS. The platform’s administration did not explain the reasons for the blocking, limiting itself to the standard wording of rule violation.

The crypto community has speculated about the reasons for the restrictions. Some users attribute this to suspicions that pump. fun is involved in Pump and Dump schemes or the use of prohibited API tools. Some believe that accounts were blocked due to massive complaints. The project’s marketing representative, bradenbt, hinted on social media that the blocking could mean the end of the platform’s operations, although most took it as a joke.

Despite the loss of the main communication channel, the platform continues to operate. GMGN has already announced its intention to appeal the blocking, and other affected projects have made similar statements.

The media reports that the pump. fun team is preparing to launch its own token with a valuation of $ 4 billion and a possible tokenization of $ 1 billion. In this context, restricting access to X can be a serious reputational and marketing obstacle.

It is worth recalling that in January 2025, a class action lawsuit was filed against pump. fun accusing it of selling unregistered securities worth $ 500 million and participating in «innovative» fraud schemes. In addition, it was previously reported that 93 out of 100 top wallets on the platform turned out to be bots.
