Amazon will accept payments in cryptocurrency
Amazon has announced that its customers will now be able to use cryptocurrency to make payments, thanks to the integration of the Venmo system, which is owned by PayPal.
«We want to offer customers payment options that are convenient, easy to use, and secure — and there’s no better time to do that than the busy holiday season. Whether it's paying with cash, an instant purchase with the option to pay later, or paying with Venmo, our goal is to meet the needs and preferences of every customer,» said Max Bardon, Vice President of Amazon.
Placing an order with Venmo is easy — first, the customer needs to create a Venmo account and add it as a payment method to their Amazon account. The payment service can also be set as a default payment method, not just an option.
Last week, it became known that Amazon will accept the Shiba Inu (SHIB) cryptocurrency as a payment for goods and services. However, the integration will not be direct — it will take place through FCF Pay, which provides debit cards linked to its customers' stablecoins. At the end of September, Amazon canceled the referral fee for Ukrainian entrepreneurs for 1 year. Thus, Ukrainian businessmen will be able to scale more actively into the European and global markets and find new customers there.
