The arrested cryptocurrency wallet of the largest darknet store cannot be opened
In Russia, a court has arrested the cryptocurrency wallet of Dmitry Pavlov, one of the founders of the online drug sales platform Hydra, which may contain hundreds of millions of dollars.
Pavlov himself refused to provide access to the wallet, and his lawyers did not challenge the arrest (probably realizing that the court would not get to his funds anyway).
According to the Chainanalysis report, in 2021, Hydra accounted for 80% of the global revenue of darknet marketplaces. Hydra was used to trade drugs, fake documents, leaked databases, and other illegal goods. Between 2016 and 2022, $ 5.2 billion passed through Hydra accounts.
