Australian entrepreneur accuses Coinbase and Kraken of trading «fake bitcoin»
The controversial entrepreneur Craig Wright has filed a lawsuit against cryptocurrency exchanges Coinbase and Kraken for trading «fake bitcoin.»
Wright became scandalous due to dozens of lawsuits he initiated. Since 2016, Wright has been claiming that he created bitcoin and in 2008, under the pseudonym Satoshi Nakamoto, wrote the main book on cryptocurrency (the so-called «White Paper»). in 2018, Wright was accused of misappropriating five billion dollars worth of cryptocurrency. And in February 2020, Binance CEO Changpeng Zhao said in an interview with Cointelegraph that the Australian entrepreneur had many opportunities to prove his status as the creator of bitcoin, but instead he shamed the crypto industry and undermined confidence in digital currency. At the same time, there were situations when the court sided with Wright, which surprised the rest of the crypto community.
On April 29, Wright’s lawyers filed lawsuits against Coinbase and Kraken trading platforms. The plaintiffs claim that these and other exchanges encourage traders to trade bitcoin by passing it off as another digital asset. According to the lawyers, the cryptocurrency known as BTC is in fact only the «bitcoin kernel», and the only cryptocurrency that has fully implemented the bitcoin protocol should be BSV (Bitcoin Satoshi Vision).
Wright is demanding that the court prohibit these exchanges from trading in bitcoin, as their actions or inactions grossly misrepresent the facts, thereby misleading investors.
Despite the absurdity of the situation, the decision depends on the particular judge, so we will be following the developments. Subscribe to our telegram channel to stay up to date!
