Authors of cryptocurrency donations for Ukraine will receive Donbass Arena NFT tokens

Ukrainian football club Shakhtar has become a partner of Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s United24 project and launched its own international project Pitch In For Ukraine — the authors of donations will receive NFTs of the Donbass Arena pitch.

As it became known, the goal of Pitch In For Ukraine is to raise funds to help Ukrainians affected by the Russian-Ukrainian war. «From the first day of the full-scale war, Shakhtar has directed its efforts and resources to help Ukraine in its struggle and support Ukrainians affected by the hostilities. We use every opportunity to raise money for people in need. Pitch In For Ukraine is an ambitious humanitarian project with which we hope to accumulate even more resources to help Ukraine,» said FC Shakhtar CEO Sergey Palkin.

According to the information provided by Pitch In For Ukraine, the authors of the donations will be rewarded in the form of a PoP (Pixel of Pitch) — a share of the Donbass Arena pitch, FC Shakhtar’s home stadium in occupied Ukrainian Donetsk. It is worth noting that this is not the first charitable initiative of the FC — in May, Binance NFT marketplace launched the FC Shakhtar NFT collection in support of Ukraine, featuring images of Shakhtar players and historical moments of the club.

All the funds raised by the Pitch In For Ukraine project will be used to provide humanitarian aid to Ukrainians by transferring them to the United24 Foundation of the President of Ukraine. As a reminder, Volodymyr Zelenskyy has launched his own project to collect donations in cryptocurrency. There are several ways to transfer funds: payment card, bank transfer or cryptocurrency. Depending on which fundraiser the donor wants to send money to, the system directs them to the appropriate page with the targeted fundraiser. Donations can be made in more than 100 cryptocurrencies.
