Beeple commented on the hacking of his Twitter account, which resulted in the theft of half a million dollars worth of NFTs
The world’s most popular digital artist has finally commented on the theft of access to his account. As a reminder, a phishing link was posted on the artist’s Twitter profile for more than 5 hours.
«I wish everyone to stay safe. Anything that sounds too good to be true is scam. And remember — I will never announce a surprise NFT mine in just one place once at 6am on Sunday morning,» wrote Mike Winkelman, better known as Beeple.
We remind you that yesterday the account of the famous digital artist Beeple was hacked. The attacker posted information with a phishing link to a fake raffle in collaboration with Louis Vuitton. When users clicked on the link, they lost their crypto assets.
The attacker received crypto assets worth $ 73,000 and $ 365,000 to two different addresses. In total, the hacker earned about half a million dollars, which was laundered through the Tornado Cash service.
However, as we reported, the amount of lost funds could be much higher — Beeple was followed on Twitter by 672,000 people in total.
