Binance, Coinbase, and MEXC Global to help an unknown user whose cryptocurrency was stolen

BlockSec, a blockchain security company, has contacted the world’s leading cryptocurrency exchanges, including: Binance, Coinbase, and MEXC Global with a request to help an unknown user. The investor’s ETH was stolen through a phishing attack.

BlockSec analyzed the suspicious transactions using its MetaSleuth analytical tool at the request of the victim. To assist the user in returning his crypto savings, BlockSec specialists tweeted to representatives of major platforms to conduct their own investigation into the matter and help the unfortunate investor.

As of the time of writing, the attackers sent the stolen cryptocurrency to several trading platforms. Three transfers were made to Binance: 0.049 ETH, 0.124 ETH, and 0.009 ETH. MEXC Global received 0.248 ETH, and Coinbase — 0.064 ETH and 0.049 ETH to two different addresses.

The fraudsters also sent 2.99 USDC to an unknown address. According to Etherscan, the wallet in question had previously received many ethereum transfers. Due to the BlockSec report, Etherscan has already added this address to the phishing list.

It is worth reminding that Binance’s intelligence department has been able to investigate cryptocurrency crimes many times, so there is a high probability that they will return the funds to the user this time. Thus, in August, the exchange’s specialists managed to return most of the funds stolen from Curve Finance, amounting to about $ 450,000.
