Binance was able to recover some of the lost funds after the recent hacker attack
Binance is recovering most of the funds stolen from Curve Finance, amounting to about $ 450,000. On his Twitter account, Binance CEO Changpeng Zhao announced that the exchange has frozen more than 80% of the recovered digital assets. Binance is now working to return the funds to their rightful owners.
The Curve Finance team discovered the hack on Tuesday and warned their users to refrain from using their website. Within an hour of the warning, the team was able to find and solve the problem, however, the attackers still managed to steal USD Coin worth about $ 537,000.
By the way, this is not the first case this week when cryptocurrency market players are trying to recover stolen funds. Following the recent hack of the Nomad cryptocurrency project, white hackers returned Nomad USDC, Tether, and other altcoins worth approximately $ 32.6 million.
It is worth noting that the Curve Finance hack is just one of numerous attacks that took place in 2022. According to Chainalysis, a cross-chain hacking has resulted in the withdrawal of about $ 2 billion in funds.
