Binance accused of plagiarizing artificial intelligence to automate NFT creation
The developer of the NFT generation technology using artificial intelligence has accused Binance of copying its product. According to @heyproject7, Binance is issuing a copied Chatcasso tool under the Bicasso wrapper. The developer wrote about this on his Twitter page.
The user said he was shocked that the exchange had completely copied the project he presented at the BNB Chain Hackathon. «Wow, I would never have thought that Binance would copy my project presented at the BNB Chain Hackathon. In your opinion, this project took first place. LOL!» wrote @heyproject7.
A user under the name @thecryptonative noted that companies often resort to copying ideas from startups participating in hackathons. He acknowledged that this practice is unethical, but quite common. At the time of writing, neither Binance founder Чанпен Чжао" href="https://noworries.media/biography/chanpen-chzhao/" data-bio-id="3681">Changpeng Zhao nor representatives of Binance NFT have commented on the plagiarism allegations.
As for the Bicasso tool, it is currently in beta testing. Just yesterday, Bicasso completed the creation of the first 10,000 NFTs in just 2.5 hours — each user could generate only one token. To do this, it was necessary to upload several photos and describe in text what the user wanted to receive in the end.
«With Bicasso, you can bring your creative ideas to life with Binance’s AI tool and turn them into NFTs in just a few clicks,» the company’s blog post says.
The case of Bicasso is not the only one where Binance has been accused of copying other people’s developments. Back in September 2019, the BitMEX exchange exposed the trading platform for borrowing the description of an auto-deleveraging service (the latter is used only when an insurance fund cannot take over the positions of a bankrupt client). At the time, Zhao claimed that his team «accidentally» allowed the pages to be similar. However, the Binance CEO later deleted his tweet about it.
