Bitcoins can be used to pay for tickets to English football club matches

Oxford City Football Club has entered into a partnership with the cryptocurrency platform CoinCorner, which will start accepting payments for tickets in bitcoin.

«Oxford City plays in the Southern Conference, the sixth most important tournament in England. Starting August 6, fans will be able to buy tickets to the club’s home games, food and drinks at the stadium using the Lightning Network platform.

CoinCorner has become a sponsor of the football club. In honor of this, the platform has issued a limited edition Oxford City FC Bolt Card. As part of the partnership, the team’s shirts will feature the BTC logo.

«We believe that this move will set a positive trend as digital currency becomes the new normal for sports fans and attendees of various events across the UK,» said CoinCorner CEO Danny Scott.
