Polygon Blockchain to optimize smartphones for Web3 technologies

The Polygon blockchain has announced the launch of cooperation with the British smartphone manufacturer Nothing, with plans to launch an NFT collection and expand crypto options in Nothing phones to work with Web3 technologies.

Representatives of Nothing announced the launch of Nothing’s Black Dot NFT collection on the Polygon blockchain, whose non-fungible tokens will be available for purchase on July 12. NFTs will also be available for free to customers who pre-order new Nothing Phone smartphones. The tokens will allow holders to have early access to the company’s products, exclusive offers, and promotions.

According to Polygon, the developers will add the Polygon ID identification function to the future smartphone, which differs from standard systems in that it works on the principle of complete anonymity. Crypto options also promise to provide access to dapps (decentralized client applications), games, payments, and other products of the Polygon ecosystem. The company emphasized its desire to «make the smartphone completely decentralized, so that control is only in the hands of the user.»

It seems that Polygon decided to «keep up» with the Solana blockchain, for which they developed an Android smartphone. They promised that the Saga smartphone would guarantee an increased level of user data protection. According to the blockchain representatives, the main task of the phone is to interact with Web3 services and various decentralized platforms.
