Blockchain technologies will be used to support women victims of violence

5:54 pm, September 8, 2022

French-British film director Charlotte Colbert has announced the launch of her own NFT aimed at supporting women victims of violence — all proceeds from the sale of the non-fungible token will be donated to the charity organization End Violence Against Women.

As it became known, the animated NFT is based on the horror movie «She Will» and is titled «Why are we taught to fear the witches?» The non-fungible token depicts actress Alice Krige playing the role of a witch.

You can buy Charlotte Kolber’s NFTs on the official website of the Eye of the Huntress online gallery, launched in collaboration with the NFT marketplace SuperRare. In addition to Colbert’s work, the exhibition features NFTs by virtual artists from all over the world. According to the gallery’s organizers, NFTs created by NFTs are aimed at addressing the gender imbalance in digital society and helping women survive the effects of violence.

However, digital artists should note that this year sales of NFT art have fallen 50 times, so it is not known what the situation will be in the future and whether artists will receive the desired profits. Thus, at the annual Christie’s auction of NFT art, 4.6 million dollars were raised, and last year artists received 150 million dollars from the sale of their own works at the same auction.
