Bloomberg: Kamala Harris supports the development of cryptocurrencies and artificial intelligence
During a charity event in New York, US Vice President Kamala Harris spoke out for the first time about cryptocurrencies. She said that if elected president, she would support investments in artificial intelligence (AI) and digital assets. This is reported by Bloomberg media agency.
Harris emphasized that the new economic policy is aimed at developing technologies, protecting consumers and investors, and creating a favorable business environment with clear and transparent rules.
The Democratic candidate’s statement was important for the crypto industry, which had previously felt pressure from the Biden administration. Her position on cryptocurrencies may differ from the current president’s approach. Meanwhile, Donald Trump, who is an active supporter of cryptocurrencies, even paid for purchases at a cryptocurrency bar with bitcoin, continuing his campaign to support digital assets.
A few days earlier, Donald Trump and his team unveiled a new decentralized finance (DeFi) initiative called World Liberty Financial (WLFI). The project includes the issuance of the WLFI token, 63% of which will be available for sale to the general public. Trump positions his new brainchild as a revolution in the cryptocurrency ecosystem.
As part of his election campaign, Trump relied on members of the crypto community. The politician drew attention to representatives of the crypto industry amid the publication of survey results that indicate an increased weight of crypto investors' votes. By supporting digital asset holders, Trump hopes to strengthen his chances in the race for the US presidency.
