Чанпен Чжао" href="https://noworries.news/biography/chanpen-chzhao/" data-bio-id="3681">Changpeng Zhao (CZ), the founder of Binance, urged users not to buy the meme-coin that was created using his name. In his post on the X platform, he Binance/status/1 983 437 318 670 209 536«>stressed that he has nothing to do with this token and does not support such initiatives.

The incident occurred after an anonymous group erected a 14-foot-tall golden statue of Zhao in Washington, D.C., near the U.S. Capitol building on October 28. The project was funded by four unidentified individuals who, according to the publication, spent about $ 50,000. At the same time, they launched a memecoin called CZSTATUE on the BNB Chain blockchain, which probably prompted the entrepreneur to make a public statement.

«While I can appreciate the gesture, the fact that it’s associated with a memecoin means that the authors probably just want to make a quick buck using my name. I don’t like that. Don’t buy this meme coin,» Zhao wrote in his message.

He also added that he would never accept his own statue, considering it a manifestation of selfishness. CZ recalled that he was once given a T-shirt with his image on it, hoping he would wear it in public, but he refused, calling it «too narcissistic.»

This is not the first such case in the United States. In September 2025, a golden statue of Donald Trump holding a bitcoin was installed there, another example of how cryptocurrency is beginning to penetrate the symbolic and political space.
