Charles Hoskinson quarreled with the founders of Ethereum

10:56 am, September 27, 2022

Cardano founder Charles Hoskinson said on Twitter that the Ethereum network’s transition to the Proof-of-Stake (PoS) consensus algorithm was too late.

With his remark, Hoskinson reacted to the statements of developer Evan Van Ness, who expressed the unpopular opinion that the merger could have happened earlier. Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin agreed with this. He noted that the team could have realized its plans on the basis of the NXT platform back in 2018.

According to Hoskinson, the Snow White protocol was supposed to be introduced into the Ethereum network. Back in 2020, the founder of Cardano stated that his ideas for technical updates to the Ethereum network in 2014 were better than what the developers had implemented at that time. In response to this remark, Van Ness sarcastically reminded that the Cardano founder was fired from the Ethereum Foundation six months later due to his «bad behavior and lack of tangible technical contribution.»

It is worth reminding that on September 23, a historic update took place on the Cardano blockchain. «The Vasil hard fork has expanded the capabilities of Cardano smart contracts with Plutus V2 scripts and sales models. The update will reduce the cost of script execution and transaction size, as well as increase throughput,» said Frederik Gregaard, chairman of the Cardano Foundation. Shortly before that, Chalz Hoskinson fought with Internet trolls who allowed the possible failure of the Vasil hard fork.
