Part of the $ 100 million stolen by hackers from the Harmony blockchain has been recovered
Yesterday it became known that the Horizon Bridge protocol developed by Harmony Protocol was hacked. According to preliminary data, hackers managed to steal about $ 100 million.
However, it has now become known that the company that suffered the greatest losses (AAG Ventures) was able to recover most of the stolen funds.
The fact is that AAG cooperated with Lossless DeFi and used their mitigation tool to protect the stolen funds. As a result, Lossless managed to freeze about $ 78 million of stolen funds. Due to a coincidence, they launched their own Harmony-based protocol just 1 day before the hacker attack and were able to quickly intervene in the situation.
Earlier, representatives of the Harmony protocol announced that they had stopped the Horizon bridge to ensure the safety of users' funds. The startup’s developers said that they started working with the FBI and crypto security experts to recover the stolen amount. Well, they are succeeding!
