The analytical firm Arkham Intelligence reported that the defunct crypto exchange Mt. Gox transferred another $ 2.19 billion to two unknown wallets. Earlier, in May, it was reported that the exchange transferred more than $ 9 billion to a new wallet, and in July — another $ 2.8 billion, at which time it was assumed that these movements were related to preparations for the repayment of funds to creditors.

According to analysts, the latest bitcoin movement is also related to the repayment of debts to creditors who have been waiting for it since the 2014 hacker attack that led to the collapse of Mt. However, in October, the exchange postponed the deadline for paying creditors until October 31, 2025, extending it for another year.

Last month, Mt. Gox explained the delay by two reasons: some creditors have not completed all the necessary steps to return funds, and there were difficulties in the payment process.
