The ranking of the worst performing cryptocurrencies of the last seven days included several digital assets that seriously disappointed investors. Among the top 100 cryptocurrencies in terms of maximum market capitalization, ApeCoin (APE) and Astar (ASTR) were the leaders of the reporting period with a minus sign.

Apecoin fell 7% over the past week. Despite a 4% increase in quotes over the past 24 hours, it was the worst performer in the ranking. You can buy a token for $ 1.13, with a market capitalization of $ 416 million. The APE rate has fallen by 95.7% compared to the peak price values registered last year, after the cryptocurrency entered the market.

As for the Astar cryptocurrency (ASTR), it fell by 15.3% in 7 days. ASTR has a market capitalization of $ 267 million and a token value of $ 0.05 at the time of writing. According to CoinGecko, Astar is trading 87.9% below its maximum historical value.

In addition to APE and ASTR, the IOTA cryptocurrency (MIOTA) also showed a drop, with its quotes falling by 11% over the week. At the time of writing, MIOTA is trading at $ 0.15 with a market capitalization of $ 418 million. The token’s value is 97% lower than the historical high recorded in December 2017.

As a reminder, Finbold experts have recently named the most unprofitable cryptocurrencies of August. The leader of the anti-rating was Gala (GALA), which lost more than 32.5% in value. The next most unprofitable cryptocurrency was GMX, which fell by 32.4%. The top three anti-leaders were closed by the meme token Peer, whose quotes dropped by more than 30% in a month.
