On Friday, its price reached $ 1,111.90, rising by more than 7.4% per day and 17.5% per week, according to CoinGecko data. The dynamics were also influenced by purchases from corporate treasuries and regular token burns. In May, Standard Chartered predicted that BNB could reach $ 1,275 in 2025, moving in sync with Bitcoin and Ethereum.
The overall cryptocurrency market also grew on Friday, with its capitalization adding 1.6% to $ 4.2 trillion. According to DefiLlama, the BNB Chain network’s performance is also showing an uptick: the total blocked value (TVL) increased by 2.5% over the past day to $ 8.23 billion. The number of active addresses in September reached a record 73.24 million, and the volume of transactions amounted to 4.34 million, the second highest figure after June.
The new high came a few days after BNB Chain’s official X account was hacked by attackers who spread phishing links. Nevertheless, activity on the network continued to grow. An additional incentive was the introduction of a new minimum gas price of 0.05 gwei, which, according to the team, will make transactions faster and cheaper.
BNB Chain is also preparing for large-scale upgrades. In 2025−2026, it is planned to raise the gas limit in blocks from 100 million to 1 billion and create an architecture capable of processing 20,000 transactions per second with confirmation in less than 150 ms. The developers declare their intention to add native privacy tools, improved virtual machines, and more user-friendly interfaces.
Two important updates have already taken place this year. In April, Lorentz Hard Fork was released, which reduced the time for block formation and improved network interaction between validators. In June, the network received the Maxwell upgrade aimed at faster blocks, better coordination, and stability, which also led to expectations of a market rally.
