Cryptocurrency enthusiast loses millions of dollars on a little-known digital token

6:50 pm, November 21, 2024

On the night of November 20, 2024, the teenager created the Quant meme-coin on the Solana network, which became the source of not only his profit but also the attention of the crypto community. According to analytical company Lookonchain, the author of the token earned about $ 30 thousand by performing a so-called rug pull, a sudden sale of assets on the market. However, his lost profit was also large and amounted to more than $ 3,789,000.

The meme-coin created by the teenager aroused considerable interest. Thus, he sold 51 million Quant tokens, which were valued at $ 4 million at their peak.

Despite this, the creator himself received only a fraction of the potential income — 128 SOL, the equivalent of $ 30 thousand at the time of the transaction.

Not stopping there, the teenager created two more meme coins — lucy and sorry. Their sale brought him an additional 103 SOL, or about $ 24 thousand.

At the same time, another anonymous trader was able to earn much more by taking advantage of the demand for Quant. He invested only 2 SOL ($ 462) and acquired almost 19 million tokens.

Later, the trader sold some of his assets for $ 207 thousand and now owns tokens valued at $ 486 thousand.

Subsequently, network users even found the child’s personal data.

Lookonchain experts emphasize that this situation demonstrates the risks and opportunities of the crypto market, especially in the segment of meme coins, which can become both a tool for earning money and a cause of significant losses.
